Every test the statistical test guidance knows, all at once. Answer the questions in any order and the tests that no longer fit fade out. The number beside each answer is how many tests would remain if you chose it.

Binomial Test

Close

An exact test of statistical significance used to compare the distribution of observations of a categorical variable with two categories to a theoretical distribution. Assumes independence of observations.

Use when: The variable has two categories and the sample is small (an exact test).

Alternative to: Chi-Square Goodness of Fit. Both apply; start with it. “Use when” says when this test fits instead, and what it compares.

Faded: It is used to compare group with hypothetical value or distribution, not to study association between variables. DV scale is Interval, which this test does not fit.
