Every test the statistical test guidance knows, all at once. Answer the questions in any order and the tests that no longer fit fade out. The number beside each answer is how many tests would remain if you chose it.
One-Sample Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test
CloseNon-parametric alternative to the one-sample t-test. Compares the median of an ordinal, interval or ratio variable with a hypothesized value when the data are not normally distributed. Assumes the observations are independent and symmetric around the median.
Use when: The DV is ordinal, or clearly not normal in a small sample. It tests the median (for symmetric data), not the mean.
Alternative to: One-Sample t-Test. Both apply; start with it. “Use when” says when this test fits instead, and what it compares.

Faded: It is used to compare group with hypothetical value or distribution, not to compare two or more groups.
