One-Sample t-Test

Close

Parametric test used to compare the mean of an interval or ratio variable with a known or hypothesized value, such as a population mean or a published norm. Assumes the data are randomly sampled, the observations are independent, and the data are normally distributed.

Check first: The DV is normally distributed (less critical in larger samples).

If its assumptions are not met, see: One-Sample Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test.
